The Role:
To provide a specialist, comprehensive professional Clerk of Works service to the Task and Finishing Team (TFT) in the audit of specific ‘high-risk’ major works projects carried out on the London Borough of Southwark’s (LBS) social housing estates.

To be successful in this role, you will require:
Provide professional advice and reports as required to the TFT lead on the delivery of specific ‘high-risk’ major works projects.
To assist the TFT in assessing the delivery, administration and management of council-designed major works projects, ensuring that site operations and construction works comply with relevant contract documents, LBS’ processes and procedures, and all current legislation.
To evaluate and report on the effectiveness of contracts, service providers, products and consultants used and make recommendations on changes or developments as required.
To conduct detailed site surveys, stock condition surveys, and pre- and post-inspection with the service provider, contract administrator, and LBS staff responsible for the management of major work projects.
Monitor and report on various areas such as quality, customer care, application, maintenance requirements, etc.
Support the TFT lead in the provision of accurate cost data to Leasehold Services for service charge billing and investigate and prepare responses to queries of final invoices and preparation of information necessary to respond to Leasehold Valuation Tribunals where required.
The post-holder will have the ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels with the interpersonal and negotiation skills necessary to gain and sustain the confidence of residents
Sound knowledge of all changes in building regulations, policies, best practice, research new building products and ensure that Southwark is compliant with government legislation, good practice, housing services and their combined role in building safety.
The ability to drive one's own performance and improvements and consistently work towards achieving goals and high standards with minimum supervision and strong planning and prioritising.
