The role

Could you lead the development of an exceptional new Children’s Residential Service in Southwark, breathing life into a new, high-quality £2.5million children’s home?

Would you love the opportunity to excel and progress your career and make your mark within a local authority renowned for its ambition and determination to consistently go above and beyond transform children’s lives?

As Southwark Council works to open the first of three brand new children’s homes, you’ll be part of something special from the start with exciting opportunities for progression and professional development. As you shape the new service, culture and practice, you’ll be supported by a dedicated clinical psychologist team and community of national experts as you embrace transformational approaches to assessment and care planning. You’ll be confident building the team of your dreams with the benefit of significant investment in recruitment and training, and lead on new relationships across the partnership, in a culture where creativity and innovation are valued and supported in the best interests of every child and young person.

Southwark’s Children & Families Services have been consistently rated Good by Ofsted in all areas. From that strong position we are embarking on an exciting journey to establish a new Children's Residential Service and a family of new children's homes in Southwark. This is to deliver our goal of ensuring more of our children in care are supported to live locally, to remain connected to their communities and networks. Our first home will provide care for a maximum of 5 children and young people between the ages of 10 to 16 years.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced Children's Registered Manager or Deputy Manager / Team Leader ready for the next career step, to own the development of a brand new children's home, backed by significant investment, a whole council team of social care, project and workforce professionals supporting you to develop the service, and Southwark’s unwavering commitment to Putting Children First.
