About the Role:

The Quality Assurance unit at Southwark Council invites you to join our dynamic team in a secondment opportunity as a Child Protection Coordinator (Conference Chair) for a one-year fixed term. This is your chance to be a catalyst for change, working 36 hours a week in a role that truly matters.
As a Child Protection Coordinator, you will be at the heart of our mission to safeguard children and support them to safely remain in their families. You will lead child protection conferences and statutory reviews, ensuring that every voice is heard and every decision is fair and consistent. Your expertise will guide our innovative approach, empowering families to actively participate in the process and helping children stay within their supportive communities.

About You:
We are searching for an inspiring, highly motivated individual who is a qualified social worker registered with Social Work England. You bring:
- A recognised social work qualification and SWE registration.
- A deep understanding of child protection legislation, family court processes, and children’s rights.
- Proven experience in crafting complex case reports and confidently presenting them.
- Strong skills in chairing multi-agency meetings and turning disagreements into opportunities for collaboration.
- A passion for championing equal opportunities and diversity in every aspect of your work.
In addition, you are well-versed in auditing techniques and best practices, with a knack for linking staff training to service priorities.
