The role

This role is part time - 26 hours a week

 

The central purpose of this role is the organisation and administration of Child Protection conferences for our Children's Service. This will include providing full administrative support and the production of accurate and concise records of decisions and minutes. The system we use to record and store these minutes is our on-line Integrated Children’s System (Mosaic).

You will be playing a key part in our Child Protection (CP) Team, you will work closely with social work staff, in particular the Conference Chairs and respond to a range of enquiries i.e. controlling electronic workflows, advising colleagues on operational procedures and statutory timescales. In addition, you will respond to complex enquiries and make appropriate referrals.

You will have an office base (Peckham), but on occasion may work from other locations in and out of the Borough including Schools and Hospitals, where the conference may take place.

To thrive in this role you will have strong literacy and communication skills, be a good team player but also able to work on your own initiative. Good time management is essential. A professional attitude will equip you to deal with a wide variety of people. The nature of this role will demand excellent attention to detail to complete accurate work.

You will come as a skilled user of Information Technology, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook) and web based applications, these skills will enable you to respond to the demands of this role.

Your experience of maintaining and manipulating databases will also be essential, as we collect monitoring data for each meeting and need to ensure accurate information is maintained on a large scale.

Training will be provided in the specialist area of understanding Child Welfare and Client databases.

Assessment and typing speed tests will form part of the selection process.

Additional salary details

Salary will be pro rata for 26 hours
