The role

Southwark's Adolescent safeguarding service has an exciting opportunity for a Child Exploitation Analyst & Missing Coordinator to help reduce the risk to children and young people from extra-familial harm and exploitation.

As part of our approach to continuous improvement we have set a priority to develop “an improved cross system approach to the challenges of helping vulnerable adolescents - Ensuring our young people are safely able to grow towards independence and are protected from all threats and risks to them both inside and outside the home.”

Central to delivering our improvement priority is the development of a new Adolescent Safeguarding Service within our Children’s Social Care Division. At the heart of the new Service will be our Extra-Familial Harm and Missing Team. The Team will work with our statutory and non-statutory social care teams and the wider multi-agency partnership to lead and develop the whole Borough response to children at risk of exploitation and harm outside the home, contextual safeguarding, and those children and young people who go missing from home and care.

At the core of the Team will be our Child Exploitation Analyst & Missing Coordinator. You will lead for the division and multi-agency partnership on the delivery of detailed analysis drawn from a wide spectrum of partnership data and intelligence to inform work to identify and reduce the risk of extra-familial harm and exploitation of children and young people in Southwark. Through this analysis and the coordination and distribution of key information to facilitate the functioning of strategic and operational meetings associated with reduction of risk to children and young people from extra-familial harm and exploitation, you will be pivotal in improving outcomes for our children and young people.

You will have:

- An in depth knowledge of policies and procedures in relation to child protection and safeguarding systems.
- An in depth knowledge of data protection, information sharing and confidentiality legislation.
- Experience of data analysis and research.
- Proven experience of working successfully in a multi-agency context.
