The Role:
As a Casework Support officer at the Southwark Housing Solutions service you will provide support to frontline Housing Solutions teams, be responsible for updating case information using systems such as Northgate Housing Database and Information @ Work.
You will assist in audit exercises, draft responses to correspondence and freedom of information requests. You will be able to explain clearly the relevant legislation, legislative requirements and procedures to service users and will assist in the business unit’s case level data recording and government reporting.
This role is an opportunity to learn about housing options and homelessness in a fast-paced service which has a strong track record of career development and progression.
Homelessness is everyone's responsibility and thus you will be driven by a willingness to support others.
About you:
You will need to be enthusiastic, proactive, and able to work both independently and as part of a team. You will need to have a great attention to detail, take pride in what you do while promoting and conveying the council’s promise of putting customers at the heart of all you do and deliver value for money, applying the principle of spending money as if it was from your own pocket.
You will need to possess excellent written and oral communication skills.
Strong IT and administration skills are also key to success for this role and you will need to be thorough in your approach to data handling.
