The role

We have an exciting opportunity to join our Building Control Service, supporting the administration and technical process for dealing with Building Regulation applications submitted under the 1984 Building Act.

You will be working with the Business Support Manager and will be undertaking all administrative functions to support the Building Control Service and to ensure that all work is conducted within set deadlines and to a high standard.

As a Building Control Business Support Officer, you will be responsible for:
- Ensuring accurate, professional, and timely case management service to our customers across a range of service areas and activities

- Undertaking casework that requires an understanding of relevant service processes, regulations, and legislation

- Delivering excellent customer service
- Ensuring strict confidentiality is maintained, and data protection (GDPR) rules are followed
- Promote and support customer Self Service
- Identifying improvements in customer and service provision

About You

You will be a team player and be able to demonstrate that you are able to work in a highly pressured environment often working to strict deadlines. Experience of dealing with Building Control, Planning, Street Naming & Numbering, and Land Charges would also be an advantage.

The post would require an individual who could demonstrate the following:

- A strong customer focus

- A positive "can do" attitude to help deliver the highest standards of service to our customers

- Experience of Building Regulations application types and administrative processes

- Attention to detail, with good levels of accuracy
