The Role
The Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth Department is looking to recruit a Business Planning and Performance Manager. The department is public facing providing highly visible service to residents that shape the quality of their lives including environmental services, planning and growth, leisure, culture, parks, public safety and climate change.
Leading and facilitating strategic planning and performance management is critical in delivering continual service improvement and in meeting the Council’s overall objectives. In order to achieve this the post will work with a range of colleagues from both inside and outside the organisation on a wide variety of issues. Vital to this will be the post’s ability to develop performance benchmarks and to drive performance improvement against these.
About You:
The post holder must be confident about building relationships with a wide variety of people and operating across the department you will be capable of successfully shaping and embedding strategic planning, performance reporting and accountability arrangements across the department. In doing so you will have a good understanding of these areas, how these can support the delivery of change and be able to articulate and sell this to a wide variety of colleagues. Just as important will be your ability to anticipate and analyse challenges to the business and articulate these, together with possible solutions, to senior managers.
