The Role
In this Senior Management role, you will be commercially aware and support the Head of Building Control in delivering an effective service, helping to achieve Southwark Council’s Business Plan and corporate objectives.
On a day to day basis you will take the lead on Major Projects, ensuring that statutory targets are met and that works carried out on site comply with building regulations. Predominantly you will be a technical specialist in tall and complex buildings. You will be an excellent communicator attending design meetings with world class clients and developers. You will be a key player in assessing what are often leading edge and innovative construction solutions and you will play a primary role in ensuring our performance standards, resources, and income are sufficient to sustain a top tier building control service.
About You
As one of Southwark’s lead technical experts, you will be RICS, CABE, IStructE, IMechE, RIBA, IFE, CIAT, ICE or CIOB qualified and be able to evidence continual professional development. You will also have experience of working with Tier 1 developers on high risk, high-rise and complex buildings.
Management experience would be advantageous in this role, however, it is not essential for someone with the right technological background.
