About the Role:

With over 120 languages spoken across the borough, we face the challenges of an inner-city area head-on, with Adult Social Care playing a central role in supporting our vulnerable residents.

We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated Assistant Placement Officer to join our Adult Social Care team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in procuring individual support packages and placements for adults, including older individuals and those with mental health, learning, or physical disabilities. Your responsibilities will include maintaining accurate records of placements and financial activities, as well as contributing to market intelligence on the quality and availability of health and social care services.

You will be a key player in ensuring that care packages, including direct payments, are set up and managed according to our Personal Budgets Policy and Fairer Contributions Policy. Maintaining positive working relationships with service providers, you will negotiate care packages and ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards. Your ability to analyse and interpret information will be crucial in delivering high-quality and value-for-money services to our residents.

About You:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive individual with a positive attitude and excellent interpersonal skills. You should thrive in a busy and challenging environment, demonstrating outstanding administrative and numeracy abilities. You will have a good understanding of the legislative, policy, and financial context of adult social care, as well as experience with social care management systems like MOSAIC and SAP.

Effective communication is key in this role, as you will be interacting confidently with the public and various stakeholders. Your collaborative approach and commitment to equality and diversity will support our mission to prevent, reduce, and delay the need for adult social care through well-coordinated services.
