What are the requirements?

- Must be aged 16 or over

- Able to work full time

- Willing to learn

- Willing to work towards English and Maths qualifications whilst on the apprenticeship*

- GCSE requirements or equivalent qualification level

*GCSE qualification requirements will vary depending upon apprenticeship level

*English and Maths qualifications are a mandatory element of an apprenticeship if not held as a GCSE upon enrolment.

The Role:

To ensure the provision of a high quality pensions service that meets service standards and complies with statutory regulations under the Local Government Pension Scheme (LGPS). The post holder provides support and administration services for the Southwark Pension Fund.

To undertake an approved course of professional study under the Pensions Management Institute (PMI).

To work flexibly as part of a team and assist other officers in all areas of work within Pension Services, including instruction on and obtaining an understanding of legislation governing the LGPS and wider pensions industry.

The apprenticeship pathway you will be completing will be Workplace Pensions Administrator Level 3

About You:

Pensions Services are looking for somebody who is able to work as part of a large team, is able to meet deadlines and is proactive in their approach to work. The person must have some experience in using Microsoft Office, and previous experience in an admin role is desirable. The Candidate must also have excellent numeracy skills, to be able to perform complex calculations. Pension Services is also looking for somebody eager to learn and progress accordingly.

Additional Information:

- The candidate must have a Minimum of Maths and English Language GCSE’s or equivalent at Grades A-C
