The salary range for this position is:£35,862 - £40,005
The role:
The Assistant Librarian will act as duty manager in district libraries as required to ensure that advertised opening hours are maintained.
The financial responsibilities of the post must be carried out within the Council's regulations contained in the Financial Regulations, Contract Standing Orders, Business Manager's Handbook and other corporate and local service guidelines and requirements, or as directed by appropriate central and corporate staff.
The post is responsible for setting, managing and monitoring local delegated budgets under the direction of the Area Manager. The post holder will be responsible for identifying and recommending budget requirements and needs, monitoring expenditure to ensure that it remains within budget, identifying trends, recommending actions in relation to potential or actual budget underspends or overspends, and making recommendations on the deployment of budgets and resources locally and across the service in appropriate areas.
As well as the immediate service staff, the post has contact with other library staff, the general public, local and national groups and organisations, divisional and corporate staff, contractors.
