The Role:
This is a great opportunity for anyone who is passionate about consumer protection and is seeking to pursue a career as a trading standards professional.
As an assistant enforcement officer, you will be working within the Council’s trading standards team. Trading standards enforce laws that protect consumers and good businesses. This includes tackling counterfeit and unsafe goods and making sure businesses trade fairly within legal requirements.
You will provide support to enforcement teams within our regulatory services division and will need to undertake professional learning and development to become a qualified trading standards professional.
You will be assisting with business compliance inspections, age restricted product test purchasing, investigating breaches of trading standards legislation and dealing with complaints. You will also be carrying out data inputting along with a wide range of support and enforcement activities across the service.
The role is based at our corporate headquarters in Tooley Street, London SE1.
