The role

This senior management position offers the opportunity to shape and develop services in a supportive and collegiate environment. We are looking for an individual who can rise to the challenges presented, the most significant of which is the financial pressures facing Adult Social Care, increasing demand for services and post Covid health issues.

The post holder will provide strategic management oversight, in the provision of Care Act eligible services, to older people and people with physical disabilities. Working with health partners and NHS providers in the provision of reablement services, safe hospital discharges and in the support of vulnerable residents in the community.

What are we looking for from you?

We are seeking to recruit someone who is keen to develop skills in strategic management, financial acumen, and partnership working.

We would like the post holder to have:

•  An understanding of the issues that face local government and their implications for service delivery.
•  Experience of managing and developing reablement services
•  Experience of budget management.
•  Be an adept and influential communicator who has experience of successfully engaging with staff and across council departments and with Health providers.
•  Be able to work in partnership with health and commissioning colleagues to develop and manage multidisciplinary services.

There are estimated to be around 2,000 people living with dementia in the borough.

This post attracts an additional JNC financial benefits package of £3,503 per annum (pro-rata April-March).
