The role
To provide high-quality financial accounting, strategic management accounting and procurement advice to the council, including to the relevant Cabinet Members, Strategic Directors, senior managers, and others, on behalf of the council’s finance function.
Advise on all elements of strategic finance and planning on behalf of the department for the council’s business planning process, and the development and delivery of departmental projects including capital programmes.
To be responsible for the focus for the development and realisation of our Financial Strategy, ensuring it lives and breathes through the service and effectively supports the council in the delivery of the Corporate Plan.
The post holder will establish strong partnerships across the council that have a significant positive impact on the services they support and consequently to our communities, ultimately improving the lives of Southwark residents through being the lead finance officer within the council’s transformation programme.
The role will also lead the internal programme of transformational change that will occur within the department which includes budget holder, member training and process changes requires through our ERP replacement programme.

This post attracts a JNC benefit to the value of £3503 per annum.
