The Role:
The Community Safety & Partnerships Team is looking to recruit an Assistant Community Safety Officer to support the work of the division in implementing and delivering the priorities of the statutory Community Safety Partnership (CSP) as set out in the Community Safety Partnership Plan, and other community safety priorities as identified in the Council’s Borough Plan. This will include supporting existing projects and developing new projects in the areas of Anti Social Behaviour, Serious Violence, Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG), Women’s Safety and other areas.
The post holder will be required to do the following:
To support and develop existing projects under the CSP work streams
- To develop new project proposals in response to CSP and Council priorities
- To undertake research on new and developing issues; gathering information and intelligence; preparing reports identifying issues and recommendations for management, CSP sub groups or other forum.
- To plan, co-ordinate and support partnership meetings such as the Community Safety Partnership and associated sub-groups.
- To plan, co-ordinate and evaluate events such as public consultation meetings, conferences and seminars and community roadshows.
- To maintain accurate and up to date records including databases and spreadsheets.

About You:
Previous experience in this area is not essential, however previous experience of working in a community safety environment will be of benefit. Good planning and organisational skills are also beneficial to this role.

The successful candidate will require security clearance from the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS, formerly CRB).
