The Role:
This is an exciting time to be involved in the Culture department of Southwark Council, with a number of high profile projects in progress and others about to begin. The experience this will offer to an apprentice will be invaluable, including the development of transferable skills that can be applied throughout your working career.
The successful candidate will be able to participate in the Southwark Apprenticeship Programme to work in a supported learning environment to develop advanced professional skills, knowledge, behaviours and work experience in the areas of Culture and business administration. They will be able to undertake a range of business administration activities for the Culture department, including gaining experience of the council’s financial systems. There will be significant work within the libraries and heritage business unit, providing a broad range of experience for the apprentice.

About You:
Basic digital or IT literate (M365) - Familiarity with popular business IT package applications including Outlook, Excel and Word
Ability to communicate well; both in verbally and in writing
Take initiative and make the most of placement
Good at prioritising
Ability to present information clearly and concisely
Ability to follow instruction and learn new tasks
