From social care to education and family support, our systems enable frontline staff to provide essential services to some of the most vulnerable people in our community. About the Role
As an Applications Support Assistant, you will be at the heart of supporting and enhancing the IT applications that underpin our services. You’ll work in a dynamic environment, assisting a variety of users, solving technical issues, and escalating problems to 2nd and 3rd line support when necessary. Your primary goal will be to ensure our applications remain fully operational, enabling the smooth delivery of social care, education, and early years services.
In this role, you will:
- Respond to system queries using our Hornbill ticketing system.
- Troubleshoot and resolve application issues or escalate them as needed.
- Log calls and update tickets promptly and accurately.
- Continuously improve your knowledge of various software and hardware solutions.
- Work closely with internal teams, suppliers, and industry-leading companies.

About You
You’re passionate about technology and its potential to transform lives. You have strong communication skills, enabling you to build relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. You’re technically skilled, with a background in IT support, Agile working practices, and a good understanding of social care or education services.
We’re looking for someone who:
- Has solid technical skills, including proficiency in SQL and an understanding of IT operational best practices, such as ITIL.
- Can troubleshoot complex support issues and work in a dynamic helpdesk environment.
- Is an excellent team player with a customer-focused approach.
- Is passionate about data management and understands the role it plays in shaping outcomes for our staff and service users.
- Ideally has experience working with systems like Capita One, Mosaic, or Synergy.
