The Role:

The Applications Support Analyst is responsible for supporting the delivery of services and underpinning applications relating to one or more of the corporate applications or technical specialism within the portfolio that they operate, in this case Regulatory Applications.

They will operate as part of a team of specialist analysts delivering related services and supporting the underpinning applications in the portfolio, as well as helping ensure services are continually developed & improved.  They will help ensure that an effective service are provided across the portfolio by the team as a whole by covering and supporting colleagues when they are off work and ensuring they have sufficient base knowledge in other systems to do this.  They will share their knowledge, through documentation and other means, with colleagues in the team to support this aim.

Application Support Analysts will have specific technical knowledge in Corporate Applications, and good experience managing and troubleshooting such systems.  They will be confident working with data and using SQL to manipulate and report upon data held in corporate systems.

About You

We are looking for an outstanding Applications Support Analyst to help develop and enhance our portfolio of applications and support our service users.

You will have:

- Ability to supports the work of the team in ensuring that applications are operating efficiently and effectively as required by the business

- Provides an effective service to the user community, ensuring that tickets raised on the corporate IT support system are responded to quickly and resolved within reasonable timeframe

- Follows best practise approaches, ensures Applications are well documentation and knowledge are shared so that there is adequate cover for key systems

- Assists in the project-management of upgrades and new applications for business applications, helping to ensure that user’s business requirements is met and that changes are appropriately controlled and tested.

- Works effectively with a wide range of colleagues in bear in resolving issues and managing systems. Liaises with colleagues to ensure requirements is well understood and being delivered upon with minimum disruption

- Provides informal training, support and advice to users of business applications if required, including technical, tools and appropriate use of data

- Ensures that the Applications Team Leader is appropriately briefed on their work, escalating to the Applications Team leader and other colleagues as needed

- Manages and prioritises their own work, actively seeking out opportunities to enhance their contribution to the work of the Team. Follows professional development to keep their skills up to date.

- Any other reasonable duties that are in broad line with the role described as requested by the Applications Team Leader or Head of Applications
