Can you help Southwark Council shape a brand new leisure service that supports all its residents and visitors to lead healthy lives?
We are looking for a proactive and experienced Application Manager who will beresponsible for the overall delivery of applications in the Leisure Services portfolio, ensuring support services continually developed, upgraded & improved. This includes day-to-day systems management, planning and managing software upgrades, building effective working relationships with suppliers, and implementing appropriate training programmes. In addition, the post will contribute to the continuous improvement of the service delivery, providing direction and technical guidance to senior management in Leisure services on digital solutions.
The post reports to the Programme Lead – Environment and Leisure in the Technology & Digital Services, which sits within the Strategy and Communities department. The role is responsible for the management of relevant applications used in the delivery of Leisure Services. It has a dotted line reporting to the Leisure Finance and System manager.
The Leisure Division sits within the Department of Environment, Neighbourhoods and Growth, which is responsible for the day-to-day management of parks and open spaces, trees, sports and leisure, cemeteries, youth and play, highways, roads, parking, refuse collection, street cleansing, culture and libraries. It also looks after public health, trading standards and consumer safety.
About You:
-Can lead the troubleshooting and resolution of complex support issues on a
major corporate system (or multiple smaller systems)
-Expert within the field or council for a product domain or technical specialism
(eg GIS or Interfaces)
-Able to write complex code in multiple development languages including SQL
-Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong
relationships with stakeholders

Additional Information:
- This is a x1 Permanent, full-time position
- Standard 36 hours Monday - Friday
- Basic DBS check required.
- Will be required to travel within the borough to the Council’s leisure facility locations.
