Hello Everyone,
We are fast approaching International Transgender Visibility Day on the 31st March. And we are very proud that Southwark Council’s new Transgender and Gender Identity Guidance document will be launched on Wednesday 31st March. Some of us have participated in drafting this document so it represents our community in the best way and is a huge step forward for equality and inclusion.

In advance of the launch, we have arranged for “Global Butterflies” to facilitate a webinar on Transgender Awareness on Monday 29th March at 2.30pm. The session will be recorded and uploaded to this website for those who are unable to attend the event.

And in the Evening on the 29th, - at 6.30pm we have also booked an event with performer Mzz Kimberley to entertain us and celebrate all things LGBTQ+, with a focus on the QT’s!

Welcome to our LGBT History Month schedule and we hope you will enjoy a range of events, information and, of course, an obligatory Zoom Quiz!

Currently, we have the LGBT Progress flag flying again at both Queens Road and Tooley Street for the whole of February (for those that can see them)…..

…..and if you are working from home, or in another building, perhaps you could have a few flags flying in the office or at home, or try adding a bit of colour and using an LGBT flag or image as your background in ZOOM / MS Teams?

It is also Race, Equality Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) week from 1st to 7th February, so look out for a range of corporate events, information and other events run by our friends in the other staff networks.

But for us, February 2021 is all about recognising our LGBTQ+ past; seeing all the achievements made and all the challenges our fabulous communities still face; and learning a bit about ourselves in the process.

So.....What's On?

This year, the theme for 2021 History Month is “Body, Mind, Spirit”, and in this current climate, our wellbeing and sense of self and community is more important than ever.

We will be running a POSTER event throughout the month – via a range or resources email, the Source and on Yammer – and we hope these will provide moments of thought, information, flags, and reflection for you all.

LGBTea – our Zoom lunch / tea break catch ups
Feel free to drop in any time for a quick hello, a friendly catch up and meet new people!
These are now running regularly, twice a month on alternative Wednesdays and Fridays.
