The Role
Southwark's Asset Management Commercial and Procurement division are looking for a Contracts, Commissioning and Compliance Manager to lead on strategic direction and deliver procurement aligned with key departmental strategic objectives.
Key duties include:
- Ensure that complex construction and maintenance contracts are procured and mobilised to achieve the department's business objectives, the Borough Plan and in-line with current legislation.
- Be responsible for implementing a formal development framework whilst coaching and assisting others throughout the organisation in that area of expertise.
- Develop plans and guidance to deliver the council’s objectives, focussing on long term business strategy and contributing to the wider longer term strategy using knowledge of the market to inform strategic direction
- Lead and manage a group of procurement and compliance professionals to deliver an effective service to the council.
About you
You will have:
- a CIPS diploma with extensive experience in construction procurement.
- comprehensive knowledge of contract law in relation to construction contracts.
- experience developing Service Improvement and Business Plans for procurement and contract management.
- management experience (including performance measures and ideally coaching)
