The Role:

An opportunity has arisen within the Southwark anti-social behaviour unit (SASBU) on a secondment opportunity until 31/03/2025 to work on the combatting drug project within the London Borough Southwark.

SASBU is a team that sits within the Community Safety and Partnership Service which comprises of the Southwark anti-social behaviour unit, Community wardens service and CCTV teams. The role of the candidate is integral to promote thriving communities and work in partnership with internal and external stakeholders to work with some of the most vulnerable communities within the borough.

About You:

Your work will be to support the work of the division in implementing and delivering the priorities of the statutory Community Safety Partnership (CSP) as set out in the Community Safety Partnership Plan, and other community safety priorities as identified in the Council’s Borough Plan. This will include supporting existing projects and developing new projects in the areas of managing anti-social Behaviour, drug and alcohol addiction, serious violence, violence against women and children (VAWC) and women’s safety.

The post holder will be required to do the following:

- To engage with communities and promote positive signposting to treatment services.

- To work with communities to assist in the identification of individuals who require support with addiction and to engage with individuals to promote health and well-being through treatment.

- To promote education, employment and training opportunities with service users.

- To support partnership meetings such as the Community Safety Partnership and associated sub-groups.

- To maintain accurate and up to date records including databases and spreadsheets.

- To be able to work outside of working hours when required.
